For a visual person, Pinterest is fascinating! Rather than just talk about what interests you, you can show it – or rather, pin it! Look for more Julia boards to come, including one that displays places and things of interest in her work-in-progress, Will & Elodie’s story, second book in the upcoming Ransleigh Rogues series.

After having abandoned updates on this page for a shamefully long time (in her defense, Julia points to the many blogs she’s been writing over the last six weeks to promote the release of SMUGGLER,) she is happy to check in with some great news. Greville’s book has a title (SOCIETY’S MOST DISREPUTABLE GENTLEMAN) and a January 2011 release date. One of her favorite all-time books, WICKED WAGER, will be released for the first time in the UK in November with a lovely new cover. And A MOST UNCONVENTIONAL MATCH was just released again in the UK with a different cover that looks like an “outtake” of the original cover art, only much brighter. (Images of both to be posted on the Bookshelf page shortly.)

In the meantime, after the usual disruption for the end of summer and beginning of school, Julia is diving back into the writing of the first book of the Ransleigh Rogues series. Caro and Max are still tiptoeing around each other, but events are soon going to spiral out of their control.

Don’t you love it when that happens?

Julia is thrilled with the cover of her upcoming August book, THE SMUGGLER AND THE SOCIETY BRIDE! (check the Bookshelf page for a peek!) Although Honoria appears a bit too demure to be in character, Gabe is displayed in all his roguish charm. So far, all the covers we’ve seen for the Regency Silk & Scandal continuity series have been beautiful; check the RS&S page on the Bookshelf tab to view the covers for THE LORD AND THE WAYWARD LADY and PAYING THE VIRGIN’S PRICE.

All the continuistas are excited as the June debut of this series approaches. In addition to an ad in Romance Sells, the RWA publication sent to librarians and booksellers displaying upcoming titles in romance fiction (if your library or bookstore doesn’t receive this, they can sign up on the booksellers & librarians page at for this FREE booklet) there will be lots of blogs, contests and giveaways. In addition, Christine Merrill, author of Books 2 and 8, has written an Undone featuring some of the characters, which will appear in May as “Taming her Gypsy Lover.” All six authors just completed an on-line read introducing the series that will run at sometime in May, tentatively entitled “The Lady’s Scandalous Escapade.” So check back often for updates!

Thanksgiving was a whirlwind of kids and signficant others at home, including eldest son and his new bride and daughter and her new fiance. The bad news of signficant others is they have families that require their presence at holidays, too, so I’ll not get them home for Christmas. But there will be feasting and festivities nonetheless, as I hope there will be for you and yours. It’s a time for counting blessings and resolving to use all our talents and gifts to the fullest in the New Year to come. Best wishes to you and yours!

The Prodical Returns…

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

As you can tell from the date of the previous update, I’ve not been around much this summer–I think the count is 7 days at home since June 1? Three graduations, two weddings (one my son last week in Williamsburg, VA, a great party!) a family reunion in New Mexico, a wedding shower in Connecticut, RWA National in DC, cross-country drives, a family vacation at Disney World… What house? What wip? Finally home and ready to load up new features in anticipation of the arrival of Ned’s book in October!

For history nerds, there’s a long post on the Extras page with a background of the Luddite rebels who appear in Ned’s book. A new contest in honor of the next Wellingford book offering as prizes any of the previous titles (check out the Wellingford page at the Bookshelf tab.) Soon to come, character sketches for Ned’s books, some pics of the locales around Nottingham where the story takes place–and an excerpt. So stop back soon!

Continuity Book Gets Title!

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Though Gabe would concede to being a smuggler, Honoria would probably point out that, having been disgraced, she’s no longer eligible for Society Bride status.  But her former position as a leader of the ton certainly plays a key role in the dance of attraction that fires Gabe with the need to uncover who set up the ruin of the woman he so admires…and is most reluctantly coming to love.

The complete listing of authors and titles:
Book 1       The Lord and the Wayward Waif by Louise Allen
Book 2       Paying the Virgin’s Price by Christine Merrill
Book 3       The Smuggler and the Society Bride by Julia Justiss
Book 4       Claiming the Forbidden Mistress by Gayle Wilson
Book 5       The Viscount and the Virgin by Annie Burrows
Book 6       Unlacing the Innocent Miss by Margaret McPhee
Book 7       The Officer and the Proper Lady by Louise Allen
Book 8       Taken By the Wicked Rake by Christine Merrill
For more into, follow the link on the Bookshelf page.  There will be lots of contests, blogs, news and treats as the series release date nears, so check back often!
