For Angophiles and fashionistas, here’s a short retrospective of fashion from the longest-reining British monarch. Julia especially fancies the 1971 houndstooth coat and 1972 white dress and hat.

It’s the time of year to count blessings, and the joy of being able to craft stories is certainly one. That joy I owe to my readers, whose purchases of my books allow me to continue making a career of talking back to the voices in my head. As a thank-you, I’m participating again in the Harlequin Historical Authors Holiday Advent calendar giveaway. Grand prize is the new Kindle Fire, and my daily prize (see the contest page for details on entering) is a $50 Amazon gift certificate to help the winner fill that new Kindle.
Thanks again for your enthusiasm and loyalty. I wish you and yours the blessings of family, faith and fellowship this holiday season!

Julia was delighted to discover that WAIF is one of the October releases AAR staffers Blythe and Ellen are “eagerly awaiting.” Also on the list are books by favorite authors Carolyn Jewel, Mary Balogh, and Sharon Sala as well as releases by new author Tessa Dare. Plus a new historical novel about much-maligned Catherine Howard, Henry VIII’s “beheaded wife No. 2,” called THE QUEEN’S MISTAKE and written by veteran historical author Diane Haeger. Ah, if only one could do without sleep and use the time for reading!

Julia is thrilled to announce that her July 2008 release was voted Best Category Romance of 2008 in the All About Romance website’s Annual Reader Poll. To snag a win from among the hundreds of wonderful books coming out each year is a huge honor–and Hal, it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy! Thanks to all the organizers and readers at AAR.

More good news from All About Romance! The interim results of their Annual Readers Poll were posted yesterday and my July book, A MOST UNCONVENTIONAL MATCH, made the list as one of the Best Category Romances for 2008. Of course, no guarantee MATCH will make the final list, but one thing I’ve learned in this often ego-bashing business: celebrate every success. So I’m celebrating!
To view the complete list (and vote in the final poll) visit the AAR website at www.likesbooks.com.

Blythe Barnhill, reviewer for the website All About Romance, chose Julia’s July release, A MOST UNCONVENTIONAL MATCH, as runner-up for Best Historical Romance of 2008. Said Barnhill, “Year after year, Julia Justiss quietly turns out some of the best books around. This one had an unforgettable hero and a very sweet romance.” Thanks so much, Blythe!

Great new review just in! I was thrilled that my Christmas novella in the One Candlelit Christmas anthology got a nice mention from Chicago Tribune reviewer John Charles on his One Minute Reviews spot. Check it out!
“The warmth and love of the holiday season are splendidly captured in this trio of expertly crafted, Regency-set novellas…Justiss’ “Christmas Wedding Wish” is richly emotional.”
